The problem now is that she can't clean her bottom and being a lionhead, her poo is getting stuck to her fur. I cleaned her up several times and then cut some of the fur around her genitals. This lasted for a while, but she keeps getting poo stuck to her bottom. I think I'll have to have the vet shave her because I can only do so much that she'll tolerate. I hope that's all it is. Does anyone else have this problem?2bunsinmadisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03216100678481305669noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6450837737701786785.post-70686664675077003052017-03-09T10:38:29.435-05:002017-03-09T10:38:29.435-05:00I'm sure very impress to read this text. He is proudly eating his pellets yet i discovered after a while that he denies to eat most of the food. He would choose only banana, mashed apples and his pellets. He refuses to eats hay and greens entirely. I noticed that he is having his cecops left undigested in big amounts. I don't know what to do. How to feed him?? RSPCA replied that he didn't want to eat greens and he only ate pellets. I am afraid that it will havie bad impact on his digestive system on the long run. Please help me. It's a bit of a blessing for me as the owner as I never have to worry about him chewing on furniture or cables or biting. My rabbit had terrible malocclusion when I found her (sadly, someone dumped their "Easter bunny", but luckily she ended up in my yard!), so we get her front teeth removed and we all couldn't be happier! It's a fantastic option - no front teeth doesn't slow her down a bit, and she can't eat my baseboards like her boyfriend (both altered, of course!). The only downside is that I have to chop certain veggies into smaller pieces for her to be able to eat, but it's a small price to pay for such a happy healthy friend!Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13114405375722195161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6450837737701786785.post-75550803462349974992010-03-05T06:18:05.320-05:002010-03-05T06:18:05.320-05:00I Have rabbit. I've heard that about ~50% of rabbits do need to be syringe fed after this surgery, as some refuse to eat following the procedure due to pain and discomfort. If the rabbit hasn't eaten for a day, syringe feed him some Critical Care and pumpkin mush. <br />Also, many rabbits will benefit greatly from sub-Q fluids, since many of them refuse to drink as well. Charley needed two courses, which helped considerably with his recovery. This week I too had to have teeth pulled from my buck rabbit and his molars rasped which had also grown long without my knowing and although he was really poorly at first(neutered too at the same time) and not eating or excreting he seems to be eating so much better now and seems full of beans and interested in life again.
